I was signing up for a tournament on Smoothcomp and felt a little pressured because I didn’t want to miss the deadline. Luckily, paying the fee was really straightforward and my card went through on the first try.

The confirmation email showed up quickly too, which was a relief. The payment page was clean and didn’t make me repeat anything or second-guess what I was doing. Overall, it was smooth and easy, so I’d give it 5 stars

I’ll admit I’m a little biased because I really don’t like surprise fees, but Smoothcomp itself works well. The problem for me is the pricing starts to feel high once you add event fees and the extra charges on top. It adds up faster than I expected. It’s not a dealbreaker, I just wish everything was more clearly shown upfront.

They did get back to me, so that was good. It just wasn’t super quick, you know? Not a huge deal, but I was kind of waiting around for a bit.

I’ll be honest, I kind of lost track of when everything was updating, so my timeline was a little mixed up at first. But the brackets and results all ended up being correct, which made it really easy to trust

I used Smoothcomp for a BJJ event and it made things so much easier. the brackets were easy to find, I could see who was up next, what mat they were on, and any updates without asking people every 5 minutes. It wasn’t anything fancy, but it Worked and made the whole day a lot less confusing.

Overall, I had a good experience. The main thing that annoyed me was the unclear communication at times, I felt like I had to ask follow-up questions just to understand what was going on. Other than that, everything was decent.

Smoothcomp took a bit to get back to me, which had me wondering for a minute, but once they replied it was all handled fine and the money came back. I do think the updates could be a little clearer, just so you’re not left guessing, but yeah... overall it wasn’t a big issue. 4 stars.

Maybe it’s just me, but the search seems to miss things near me often. I’ll look for something local and it won’t show up, even when I know there are options close by

I tried using it on my phone and found it frustrating. The layout felt awkward and it was hard to tap around without zooming in or backing out a bunch. Weirdly, I remember I was sitting in my car with a half-melted mint in the cup holder while trying to get it to work, and I just gave up after a few minutes. It might be better on a computer, but on mobile it wasn’t easy for me.

I don’t know what changed, but this site used to work a lot better. Lately it crashes way too often, and it gets frustrating when I’m just trying to use it normally

I used smoothcomp to keep up with my teammate’s matches, it worked well. The live results seemed to update quickly, or at least quick enough that I wasn’t stuck wandering around asking everyone what mat was next. On a busy competition day, I’d say it was really handy.
